National Walkout

First Amendment right to express in action:

On March 14th, schools across this great nation allowed for students to walk out in support of and to bring awareness to school violence and gun violence.  This was a clear demonstration of the First Amendment in action, and I personally think that the districts who allowed this and encouraged this support that right.  Although not completely popular with everyone, many of the walkouts were held for 17 minutes, in honor of the 17 who lost their lives senselessly at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.  Since it is totally evident that we cannot reach a consensus on gun control in this country, we can at least allow opinions and ideas to be heard.  I applaud our law enforcement professionals who worked these school walkouts.  They supported the Constitution again in ways that we aren’t generally trained for, or experienced in.  Stay safe everyone.
