2001: What A Year

The roller coaster ride that was 2001 was the most tumultuous 12 months that I have ever experienced in my thirty years in Law Enforcement. I can say that nothing will ever look the same in my life. Etched in my mind will always be the portrait of real heroes of our society. All across this country the lives of so many have been touched with this tragedy that it is almost beyond belief'. For the first time in my life I have witnessed this country come together as never before. Truly the greatness of the country is in the people in it. For those who died and the friends and families left behind I promise that I will mourn their passing but steadfastly promise that they will never be forgotten.

Society has recognized the new class of American Heroes, our Police Officers, Sheriffs, Firefighters, and Military Personnel and with the renewed respect is a growing responsibility to provide quick and positive service. The slowing economy has put an added strain on the working men and women of this country. Conflict will be on the increase over the next year. At CALRO we believe that as time goes on there will be an ever-increasing call for the services of CALRO trained individuals. This year our training will be based on the "Basics" of Labor Relations in California. It is my hope that all agencies will make an effort to bring others with them to this years training sessions.
